Using Software to Verify and Validate Addresses

For any size business, it's extremely important that you know how to validate and verify email addresses. The most common place to do this is by going through the addresses list and cross referencing each one to see if it's a match. If the results are positive and the address is in the database, that's a good sign that it's a valid address and you can proceed with making a purchase or finding a potential client. Nowadays there are software programs available that will help you do this automatically.

One of the most important parts of the process is being able to tell whether or not a piece of mail was delivered successfully. Postal devices have a very specific protocol for addressing a piece of mail, and they don't follow the same protocol for electronic mails. You can usually distinguish an electronic envelope from a regular mail by the envelope size, the transparent covering (paper) and by the stamps and seals used to sign the envelope. Using software to validate and verify mail you can determine if the mail was delivered successfully and whether or not it should be considered spam.

Sometimes there is no way of telling if the mail was delivered successfully, especially with large envelopes and multiple pieces of mail. In these cases you can also use the postal address verification software to determine if the mail was delivered and whether or not the address is correct. With a quick test, you can determine if someone sent you a piece of mail that should have been sent to a valid address or not, and you won't waste your time or their time trying to deal with a problem that shouldn't even exist.
